The main point of contact for the branch, Senior Negotiator and Manager of Branch Functions.

Branch Chair: Kevin McGrath

Facilitates Branch and committee meetings

Assistant Branch Chair: Steve Saywell

Assists the Branch Chair in branch and committee meetings.

Branch Treasurer: Jackie Real

Responsible for managing Branch finances, including keeping accounts.

Health & Safety Officer: Noel Raleigh

Represents the Branch and Branch Secretary on Health & Safety Issues

Education Co-ordinator: Ryan Spencer

Facilitates education, training and development for members, stewards, health and safety reps and branch officers.

(The Branch also has UNISON Lay Tutors/TUC trained Tutor to deliver training)

Lifelong Learning Co-ordinator: Stewart Parker

Leads on member learning in the branch. They work closely with the branch education co-ordinator and the same person might even carry out both roles. They can be a vital link between union learning reps, the branch committee, and learning providers.

Membership Officer: Ryan Spencer

Keeps track of the branch’s membership and works to develop recruitment and organising.

Branch Communications Officers: Steve Saywell

Co-ordinates Branch communication

Welfare Officer: Jackie Real

Assists members in making welfare claims & campaigns around welfare issues related to the Branch.

Branch International Officer: Vacant

Develop and lead on international solidarity activities including campaigns, twinnings and support for projects abroad

Labour Link Officer: Danielle Hetherington-Parker (as Branch Secretary)

Liases with the local Labour Party and makes sure the views of UNISON members who pay the APF levy are heard.

Equalities Coordinator: Danielle Hetherington-Parker (as Branch Secretary)

To be the central liaison point for equality in the branch and to promote, advise, mentor and coordinate the branches approach to equality within all work, including bargaining, and liaise with and support branch self organised groups.

Equality reps are elected by their workgroup to provide advice and support on equality and discrimination issues in their area. Equality reps liaise with the Branch Equality Co-ordinator who has a branch wide equality role.

Young Members Officer: Vacant

Black Members Officer: Emmanuella Agwagah

To act as the link between the Black members SOG and to be the primary contact and coordinator for activism and organisation pertaining to issues particularly impacting this group

Disabled Members Officer: Ade Bamgboye

To act as the link between the Disabled members SOG and to be the primary contact and coordinator for activism and organisation pertaining to issues particularly impacting this group

To act as the link between the Women’s members SOG and to be the primary contact and coordinator for activism and organisation pertaining to issues particularly impacting this group

To act as the link between the LGBT members SOG and to be the primary contact and coordinator for activism and organisation pertaining to issues particularly impacting this group

Campaigns Officer: Ebi Sosseh

Note: Disabled, Women, LGBT, Black, Young and Retired are the terms used by UNISON and so these have been adopted at present. The branch recognises the potential need for individuals to be enabled to describe their own identity and so it will be for each Self Organised Group, in consultation with the Equality Coordinator (and with adherence to and relevant legislation), to consider their title as part of the groups Terms of Reference.
